Melissa Nook, an actor and attorney, joined THE FIRE DEPT in November 2007 to associate produce the company’s production of At War: American Playwrights Respond to Iraq at The Bleecker Street Theatre. Since that time, she has become Managing Director of the company and has begun co-producing the 2009 Salon Series. Melissa has worked as a transactional attorney for Hughes Hubbard & Reed. Before joining THE FIRE DEPT, she completed the two-year training program for actors at The Maggie Flanigan Studio in NYC. Her work as an actor includes Boys’ Life (Abingdon Theater), Metropolitan Opera (Wings Theatre), and Chat Zone (HBO).
